Design & Inspect Traffic Control Plans
DescriptionThis course provides training for staff who are required to design new TCPs for roadworks or major upgrades and/or required to inspect TCPs on any road construction site.

Learning Outcomes
  • Explain the requirements of a Traffic Management Plan (TMP).
  • Collect all required information about a given project to enable the preparation of a TCP.
  • Design a TCP which meets OHS and legislative requirements.
  • Inspect and Assess Not Standard TCPs


  • Target AudienceAny person who may be required to design and inspect new TCPs. These can include:
  • Works Supervisors.
  • Surveillance Officers.
  • Road Safety Officers.
  • Project Managers.


  • Pre-requisites
  • Adequate literacy and analytical skills


  • AND HAVE
    • A current Select/Modify Traffic Control Plans (red) Photo ID Card with a minimum 12 months experience in selecting and modifying TCPs in the workplace.
    OR HOLD
    • A current Design & Audit Traffic Control Plans Photo ID Card.
